Tapper uses 2-way joysticks with the plastic black Tap on top which people are now reproducing the plastic Tap piece but no one is reproducing the actual 2-way joystick. I do have an ORIGINAL Tapper myself and removed the control panel to compare these with the joysticks in that game. Everything looks very similar and the 4 mounting holes do line up on the bottom of the CP.
The only thing that I cannot see is the full shaft on my Tapper because it is covered with the Black plastic Taps that do not come off. Please view the photos to verify that these are correct for your game before purchasing. The Joysticks DO move back and forth freely. The leaf switches may need adjusting or replaced to pop the shaft back like it should. I do Not see any actual rust damage. Tapper was produced by Bally Midway in 1983.
